Welcome to The Ontario Barrel Futurity Association

The mission of the Ontario Barrel Futurity Association is to improve the quality, earnings and statistics, of futurity aged horses in the province of Ontario. In 2016, we formed our association after noticing our province needed a place to not only showcase, but test these futurity horses at home. The days of having to travel outside of Ontario to compete in a futurity race are gone!

Since our formation, we have experienced annual growth! First time futurity horse owners, and riders are dipping their toes into the futurity world, and subsequently getting hooked on the exciting early careers of these barrel horses. The OBFA is entirely volunteer run, with 100% payback of sponsorships and entry fee money.

This past season, in 2024, we had over 50 horses paid up into our association- the largest group of futurity aged barrel racing horses documented in provincial history. In 2025, OBFA plans to host 5 shows across Ontario.
